Stock glulams are glulam beams manufactured in standard sizes and lengths that are readily available from us. They’re considered “stock” because they are pre-made and kept on hand in local inventory, allowing for quicker delivery compared to custom-fabricated glulams.

Standard Sizes and Shapes
Most stock Glulams sizes are available quickly in various Widths and Depths:
- Widths: Stock Widths 3 ½”, 5 ½, 6 ¾” and 8 ¾”. Increased widths can be special ordered.
- Depths: Stock Depths Typically 6” -> 12” -> 24”. Increased depths can be special ordered.
- Lengths: Usually stocked in 1-foot increments up to 40-60’ billets. Longer lengths can be special ordered.
- Shapes: Continuous Arches, Parabolic Arches, Tudor Arches, Peak and Cambered beams.
Considerations When Using Stock Glulams
Span and Load Requirements: Always verify that the stock size meets the structural demands of your project. We assume all Lists and Plans to be pre-engineered.
Moisture Protection: According to APA literature glulams are suitable for dry-use conditions, however many outdoor applications often require additional protection such as preservative-treatment or paint/seal products.
Fire Ratings: Some building codes require fire-resistance-rated members—check product specs. Custom glulams can be fabricated with 1-Hour fire rating, fire resistant pressure treating or paint/seal products.
