Goals:

A private Hawaiian oasis, constructed with architectural features that mirror sacred geometric forms. The client wanted to feel connected to the island of Hawaii and to the earth itself by forming the home’s structure in the shape of a seashell. The seashell is often seen as a prime example of the Fibonacci sequence, a tenant of sacred geometry.

Achievements:

12 Beams, each cambered upwards uniquely, including various end depth tapers and other custom wood fabrication. Coordination with the Glulam beam manufacturer and water transit shipper to facilitate the correct loading and protection procedure.

Wood Specifications:

Architectural Grade, Douglas fir Glu-Lam, shaped to sloped upward by the manufacturer. Sealed onsite by the customer to protect against the unpredictable Hawaiian weather.
