Goals:
To adapt and re-use a World War II era warehouse to extend and revitalize it’s structural life cycle. To give UCLA art and architectural students an open-air courtyard, art gallery, educational spaces and a myriad of art multi-purpose studios.
Achievements:
Long-span parabolic curved glulam beams allow for a soaring open roof, interlocked with hundreds of custom length purlins that allow the atrium to fill with natural light.
